Columbus Specialty Hospital

MODERN MEDICAL FACILITIES

By serving as an extension of your hospital’s clinical continuum, Columbus Specialty Hospital can help relieve the gridlock commonly experienced by many tertiary critical care units.  Utilizing a long-term acute care hospital for appropriate patients can help efficient bed management or ICU units so hospitals can accommodate other admissions.

We are known for outcomes-oriented management of our patients. Our team continuously monitors goals, tracks outcomes, and remains abreast of the best clinical practices to incorporate into each program.

We understand the important of treating the whole patient. We treat not only the medical condition, but we also care for emotional, spiritual, and social needs. We are able to provide personalized attention in a close partnership with patients and their families because we are focused on extended hospitalization.

Visitation Policy Update

Effective 3/10/2022

Observing our patients’ rights for visitation and understanding the benefit that such actions can bring we are expanding our visitation policy at this time. There are still preventative measures to be followed in order to protect the safety of our staff and patients. The parameter for visitation is as follows:

  • Visitation is from 0800-2000.
  • People ages 16 and under are prohibited from entering the hospital.
  • Please do not enter the hospital if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness.
  • Only two visitors will be allowed per patient for the entire length of stay at the facility.  These visitors are to be established on admission.  Both visitors may visit on the same day, but we ask only one at the bedside at the time.  Please arrange your visits accordingly.
  • One overnight visitor will be permitted (between the hours of 2000-0800). There will be no re-entry to the facility after the doors are locked in the evening.
  • All visitors must check in at the main nurses’ station prior to entrance into the patients’ rooms.
  • All visitors are required to wear a surgical grade mask for the duration of their visit—including at the patients’ bedside. Cloth masks will not be permitted.
  • All visitors must adhere to any infection prevention procedures in place for our patients (i.e. wearing gloves and/or gowns at bedside if posted).
  • All visitors are required to remain inside the patient’s room for the entire visit. Visitors are not allowed to roam the hallways. They may use the restrooms inside of patient’s room and are asked to use the call light to communicate needs or concerns.

We recognize that family support is important to recovery and are accommodating as much as possible.  We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time.  Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

If you have any questions please call or email.
